Zhang Hong (Arnold Chang) (b. 1954)
Arnold was born in New York City, a descendent of a family native to Jiashan, Zhejiang. He received a BA at the University of Colorado and an MA under Prof. James Cahill at the University of California, Berkeley. His teacher in painting and mentor was Wang Jiqian. Arnold established and headed the Chinese painting department at Sotheby’s in New York and subsequently worked for ten years at Kaikodo in New York, all the while engaged privately studying painting, a practice that over the years has occupied more and more of his time and passion. Arnold is an accomplished teacher and prolific author and has become a well-known and highly respected painter.
