Inscription:
“In the autumn wind the hairs of his head are cool,
sitting for long on the embankment is not difficult;
Beneath ten-thousand ranges of pure mountains, reading a single book,
disinclined to follow this generation, he would rather preserve his leisure.
During the Mid-autumn Festival (on the 15th of the 8th lunar month) of the year 1683, I inscribed this for presentation to second-elder brother Mingcai for his pleasure. Wen Dian.”
