Inscriptions
1. “During the third year of the Zhushe reign era (A.D. 8)…had made on imperial pattern a lacquered, painted, …and incised (tray) 9 inches in diameter. The (underlayers) were lacquered by Chung, the surface layer (of lacquer) was by Chung, the bronze work, incising, and gilding, was by Wang, the painting was by Dong, the…was by Tian…the foreman was Jian, the head supervisor was Chief Clerk Yan, the assistant supervisor was Qin…the clerk was Cheng…”

2. “During the third year of the Shijianguo reign-era (A.D. 11), an official on the Board of Works from the same commandery had made on imperial pattern a lacquered, painted, …and incised (tray) 9 inches in diameter. The (underlayers) were lacquered by Yang, the surface layer (of lacquer) was by Jie, the bronze work, incising, and gilding was by Zhang, the painting was by Yi, the…was by Xian, the polishing was by Chang, the foreman was Ren, head supervisor was Assistant Chung…the assistant supervisor was Sui…”
