“Water cascades from the cloudy mountains
famed from days of old till now,
I especially love this painted scroll
and roam through it all;
Where the bridge is severed by mist and rain
plum blossoms are thin,
Where mountain torrents are crossed by wind and frost
tree leaves are dense.
Inscribed by Shōchū.”
