Chang Jin (b. 1951)
Chang Jin was born in 1951 in Shanghai and grew up on the shores of Lake Taihu in Jiangsu province, providing inspiration for his brooding and expressive paintings and his abiding interest in early Chinese poets and poetry. His formal training began in 1978 at the Jiangsu Chinese Painting Academy. He served as deputy-director of the Art Council Bureau of the Academy and as member of the Chinese Artists’ Association.
